FAQ

Are stainless steel nuts strong?

Generally, Low-carbon steel with chromium is used to make stainless steel, which has enhanced corrosion properties. Due to its high corrosion resistance, stainless steel is a very cost-effective material. Despite scratches during installation or use, the metal will not lose its anticorrosive properties. Stainless steel is commonly believed to be stronger than regular steel. The low carbon content of many stainless steel alloys makes them incapable of being hardened by heat treatment. Therefore, in comparison to regular steel, the stainless alloys used in bolts are slightly stronger than un-hardened (grade 2) steel but significantly weaker than hardened steel fasteners.

Which material is used for nuts?

The raw materials used in manufacturing a typical nut at Super Screws are carbon, alloy, and stainless steel. The choice of raw material depends upon metric and inch size specifications in all grades and types.
